Yeast Biscuits

Ingredients:

  1. 2 1/2 cups - all-purpose flour
  2. 1 tablespoons - sugar
  3. 1 tablespoons - baking powder
  4. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  5. 1 1/2 tablespoons - vegetable shortening
  6. 1 packages - active dry yeast
  7. 1/2 cups - warm water
  8. 1/2 cups - buttermilk

Directions:

Sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Work shortening into the dry ingredients using a pastry blender.

Dissolve yeast in the warm water. Add yeast and milk to batter. Work well and roll out on floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness.

Cut with a biscuit cutter and bake on a greased or lined baking sheet at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes.
