Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups - all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoons - sugar
- 1 tablespoons - baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoons - salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoons - vegetable shortening
- 1 packages - active dry yeast
- 1/2 cups - warm water
- 1/2 cups - buttermilk
Directions:
Sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Work shortening into the dry ingredients using a pastry blender.
Dissolve yeast in the warm water. Add yeast and milk to batter. Work well and roll out on floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut with a biscuit cutter and bake on a greased or lined baking sheet at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes.
