    I love this recipe!! You can pour the mixture into a crock pot and keep it on low heat for serving. ALTERNATE WAYS TO PREPARE: 1/2 gal. apple cider (64 oz.) 2 pts. ginger ale (32 oz.) 16 whole cloves 2 cinnamon sticks 1 C. red hots OR 1/2 gal. apple cider or apple juice 1/4 C. red hots 1/4 C. brown sugar 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. allspice orange, optional Combine all ingredients except cloves and allspice. Microwave at mediumheat for 7-8 min. Add cloves and allspice. Mix w/ remainder of cider. Heat in crock pot; then add 4 or 5 cinnamon stix. Cut orange into quarters and float on top. OR 1 gal. apple cider 2 C orange juice 1 small can frozen lemonade 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. nutmeg Mix ingredients and slowly bring to a boil in large saucepan or pot. Boil for 1 min. Serve hot w/ orange slices floating.

Ingredients:

  1. 6 cups - Apple cider or juice
  2. whole - Cinnamon sticks Divided use
  3. 1/4 teaspoons - Nutmeg
  4. 1/4 cups - Honey
  5. 3 tablespoons - Lemon juice
  6. 1 teaspoons - Grated lemon peel
  7. 1 cans - 18-oz Unsweetened pineapple juice
  8. - Orange stars* For decoration
  9. whole - Cloves For decoration

Directions:

1. Heat cider and 1 cinnamon stick to boiling. Reduce heat, cover & simmer for 5 min.

2. Uncover and stir in remaining ingredients except for decorations and simmer for 5 min. longer.

*To make orange stars, cut an orange into 1/4-in slices. Insert 5 whole cloves at equal intervals in edge of each slice. Cut out wedge of peel and pulp between each 2 cloves.
