  1. 1 cups - butter softened
  2. 1/2 cups - packed brown sugar
  3. 2 1/2 cups - all purpose flour (approx.)
  4. 1/2 cups - packed brown sugar
  5. 2 1/2 cups - all purpose flour (approx.)
  6. 1 cups - butter softened


1. In medium bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. With your fingertips, gradually work in 2 cups of flour, adding more if necessary, to make a soft but not sticky dough.
3. Gather dough into a ball knead lightly. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to 8mm (1/3") thickness, cut into shapes with cookies cutters.
4. Arrange 5cm (2") apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in 325° oven 12-15 minutes, until lightly golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
Make 30 large or 80 small cookies.
