Tortillas

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups - flour
  2. 1 teaspoons - baking powder
  3. 1 teaspoons - salt
  4. 1/4 cups - shortening or margarine
  5. 1/2 cups - warm water

Directions:

Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Add warm water (add enough water to make dough consistency - may need slightly more than the 1/2 cup). Knead 5 minutes. Separate into equal-sized balls, about 2 inches. Roll out on a flat surface with rolling pin and place on very hot skillet (400+ degrees), turning tortilla after small bubbles appear on top side, and cooking another minute or two until small bubbles begin to rise on top again.
