The Original Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cups - butter softened
  2. 3/4 cups - sugar
  3. 3/4 cups - brown sugar firmly packed
  4. 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  5. 2 - eggs
  6. 2 1/4 cups - unsifted flour
  7. 1 teaspoons - baking soda
  8. 1 teaspoons - salt
  9. 3 cups - Guittard chocolate chips
  10. 1 cups - chopped nuts optional

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Cream together butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

Beat and add eggs.

Mix together flour, baking soda and salt, and add to butter mixture gradually.

Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop batter by well rounded teaspoon onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in 375 degree oven.

For bar cookies, bake 20 to 25 minutes; or for big cookies, bake 15-17 minutes.
