The Best BBQ Sauce (Tram's Version)

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups - ketchup
  2. 2 cups - tomato sauce
  3. 1 1/4 cups - cups brown sugar
  4. 1 1/4 cups - apple cider vinegar
  5. 1/2 cups - unsulphured molasses
  6. 2 tablespoons - butter, cut into small pieces
  7. 4 teaspoons - hickory flavored liquid smoke
  8. 1/2 teaspoons - onion powder
  9. 1/2 teaspoons - teaspoon garlic powder
  10. 1/4 teaspoons - chili powder
  11. 1 teaspoons - paprika
  12. 1/4 teaspoons - celery seed 1/4 to 1/2 tsp
  13. 1/4 teaspoons - ground cinnamon
  14. 1/2 teaspoons - cayenne pepper
  15. 1 teaspoons - salt
  16. 1/2 teaspoons - coarsely ground pepper 1/2 to 1 tsp
  17. 1/4 teaspoons - ground mustard 1/4 to 1/2 tsp
  18. 2 cups - ketchup

  25. 1/2 teaspoons - onion powder
  26. 1/2 teaspoons - teaspoon garlic powder
  27. 1/4 teaspoons - chili powder
  28. 1 teaspoons - paprika
  29. 1/4 teaspoons - celery seed 1/4 to 1/2 tsp
  30. 1/4 teaspoons - ground cinnamon
  31. 1/2 teaspoons - cayenne pepper
  32. 1 teaspoons - salt
  33. 1/2 teaspoons - coarsely ground pepper 1/2 to 1 tsp
  34. 1/4 teaspoons - ground mustard 1/4 to 1/2 tsp

Directions:

1. In a large saucepan, over medium heat, mix together all the wet ingredients and then add the seasonings.
2. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to low and simmer for at least 20 minutes or up to an hour, stirring occasionally. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.
3. Once cooled, the sauce can be frozen. Thaw in the refrigerator and use as needed.
