Ingredients:

  1. 2 - eggs
  2. 2 cups - sugar
  3. 2 cups - flour
  4. 1/2 cups - buttermilk
  5. 1 teaspoons - baking soda
  6. 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  7. 1 teaspoons - salt
  8. 2 sticks - oleo (margarine)
  9. 3 tablespoons - cocoa
  10. 1 cups - water
  11. 1 sticks - oleo (margarine)
  12. 3 tablespoons - cocoa
  13. 1/3 cups - milk
  14. 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  15. 1 pounds - confectioners' sugar (powdered sugar)
  16. - chopped nuts optional

Directions:

For Cake:

Mix by hand in a large bowl the eggs, sugar, flour, buttermilk, soda, vanilla and salt.

In a saucepan bring to a boil the oleo, cocoa and water. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well.

Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes.

For Icing:
Meanwhile, melt oleo, cocoa, milk and vanilla together. Remove from head and add powdered sugar; add nuts, if desired.

Frost cake while still warm.
