Substitute 1/2 tsp. cumin, 1/4 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tsp. chili powder, and a little salt and pepper if you do not have taco seasoning on hand.

Ingredients:
- 1 pounds - ground beef
- 1 cans - black beans
- 1 packages - taco seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups - quick cook brown rice cooked
- 3 cups - leafy lettuce torn into bite-size pieces
- 1 - tomato diced
- 1 1/2 cups - cheddar cheese grated
- 1 bags - tortilla chips
- - salsa, sour cream, guacamole optional
Directions:
Brown ground beef in a skillet; drain excess fat. Add black beans, taco seasoning mix, and 3/4 cup of water and let simmer 8-10 minutes 'til heated through.
While meat is cooking, cook rice in separate pan according to package directions.
Prepare taco salad plates individually by crushing some chips on plate first, top with rice, meat and bean mixture, lettuce, cheese, tomato, and any other toppings desired.
