For hot sauce, cook milk and remaining 5 ingredients in saucepan until thick. Place warm serving of cake on plate and top with hot sauce.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups - sugar
- 1/2 cups - butter
- 2 - eggs
- 2 cups - flour
- 1 teaspoons - salt
- 2 teaspoons - cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons - baking soda
- 1 cups - chopped walnuts
- 4 cups - chopped unpeeled apples
- 1 cups - milk
- 1/2 cups - butter
- 1 cups - sugar
- 1 tablespoons - (heaping) flour
- 1 teaspoons - vanilla
- 1 tablespoons - lemon or lime juice
Directions:
Place sugar, butter and eggs in large bowl and mix well. Sift together next 4 dry ingredients and add to first 3 ingredients. Add nuts and apples. Stir until mixture is very stiff and bake in 9x13 cake pan at 350 for 15 minutes and then at 300 for 40 minutes. (See hot sauce directions below)
