Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons - virgin coconut oil
- 1/3 cups - cocoa or cacao powder
- 1/4 cups - raw agave, honey or maple syrup (OR vanilla stevia to taste)
- -
Directions:
To get the classic chocolate chip shape, use a chocolate chip candy mold available on Amazon.
Gently melt the oil if it is not already liquid. Stir in the sweetener and the cocoa powder.
If using stevia, add a little extra liquid coconut oil if mixture is too thick.
Pour mixture into parchment-lined tupperware or plastic container or into silicone candy molds. Freeze until firm.
Break into small pieces or pop out of candy molds, and store in the freezer until ready to use.
Variation For Baking or Oil-Free: Melt a bar of unsweetened chocolate and sweeten to taste with your favorite sweetener (one of those listed above); if desired, add a teaspoon of oil for smoother results, but it's not necessary. Then pour mixture into molds or containers as directed above and freeze. These chocolate chips do not need to be refrigerated and could be used in any recipe calling for chocolate chips.
