Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups - Crushed pretzels
  2. 3/4 cups - Melted butter
  3. 3/4 cups - plus 3 T. sugar Divided use
  4. 1 packages - 8-oz. cream cheese At room temperature
  5. 1 cartons - 8-oz. frozen whipped topping Thawed
  6. 2 packages - 3-oz. pkgs. strawberry gelatin
  7. 2 cups - Boiling water
  8. 2 packages - 10-oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries
  9. 1 cans - 8-oz. crushed pineapple
  10. - Whipped topping For garnish

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 400.
2. For crust, mix pretzels, butter and 3 T. sugar. Press mixture into a 9-X-13-in. pan and bake for 7 min. Set aside and cool.
3. In mixing bowl, beat together 3/4 C sugar and cream cheese. Fold in whipped topping and spread over cooled crust. Refrigerate until well chilled.
4. In small bowl dissolve gelatin in boiling water; allow to cool slightly. Add strawberries and pineapple with juice and pour over cream-cheese mixture. Refrigerate until serving time.
5. To serve, cut slices and serve w/ a dollop of whipped topping.
