Spiced Nuts

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cups - sugar
  2. 1/8 teaspoons - salt
  3. 1/2 teaspoons - allspice
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoons - cinnamon
  5. 1/3 teaspoons - ginger
  6. 1/3 teaspoons - nutmeg
  7. 1/4 cups - cornstarch
  8. 1 - egg white
  9. 2 tablespoons - cold water
  10. 1/4 pounds - nutmeats

Directions:

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

Sift into a shallow pan the sugar, cornstarch, salt and spices.

In a small bowl, combine egg white and water and beat slightly.

Dip nutmeats into the beaten egg mixture. Then drop them one at a time into the sifted dry ingredients. Roll them about lightly, keeping the nutmeats separated.

Place them on a cookie sheet, and bake for at least one hour. Remove from oven, shake off excess sugar; store tightly covered.
