Southern Pecan Pie

  1. 1 cups - white corn syrup
  2. 1 cups - dark brown sugar
  3. 1/3 cups - melted butter
  4. 3 - eggs beaten
  5. 1 dashes - vanilla
  6. 1 pinchs - salt
  7. 1 cups - pecans heaping cup full
  8. 1 - unbaked 9-inch pie shell


In large bowl, stir together briskly the corn syrup, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, salt, and eggs until well blended. With spoon, stir in pecans.
Pour filling into pie shell and bake 40-50 minutes or until filling is set around the edges but center jiggles slightly. Cool on wire rack 2-3 hours before slicing.
Refrigerate leftovers.
