Ingredients:

  1. 3/4 cups - butter
  2. 1 cups - sugar plus extra for rolling
  3. 1/4 cups - molasses
  4. 1 - egg
  5. 1 tablespoons - water
  6. 2 cups - flour
  7. 2 teaspoons - baking soda
  8. 1 teaspoons - cinnamon
  9. 1 teaspoons - cloves
  10. 1 teaspoons - ginger
  11. 1 teaspoons - nutmeg
  12. 1 teaspoons - salt
  13. 3/4 cups - butter
  14. 1 cups - sugar plus extra for rolling
  15. 1/4 cups - molasses
  16. 1 - egg
  17. 1 tablespoons - water
  18. 2 cups - flour
  19. 2 teaspoons - baking soda
  20. 1 teaspoons - cinnamon
  21. 1 teaspoons - cloves
  22. 1 teaspoons - ginger
  23. 1 teaspoons - nutmeg
  24. 1 teaspoons - salt

Directions:

Combine butter and sugar. Stir in molasses, egg and water.

Sift flour with other dry ingredients; stir into molasses mixture.

Make balls about walnut size and roll in granulated sugar.

Bake at 350° F for about 8 minutes. As soon as they start to go flat, take them out. Best when slightly underbaked.
