Snow Pie

Ingredients:

  1. 1 1/2 cups - milk
  2. 1 1/2 cups - sugar
  3. 1/2 cups - butter or margarine
  4. 3 tablespoons - flour
  5. 4 - egg whites beaten until stiff
  6. 1/2 cups - sugar
  7. 1 teaspoons - lemon extract
  8. 2 - baked and cooled pie crusts

Directions:

In a saucepan, mix together the milk, sugar, butter and flour, and cook until thick and smooth, stirring frequently.

Beat the egg whites until stiff and stir in the additional sugar along with lemon extract. Pour this into the first mixture and mix well.

Pour into the baked and cooled pie crusts, then place in the oven to brown lightly before serving.
