Ingredients:
- 5 pounds - Beef Brisket
- 1 - Medium Onion diced
- 3 cloves - Garlic minced
- 1 - Jalapeno Pepper stemmed, seeded, and minced
- 2 cups - Hickory or Mesquite Smoke Flavored BBQ Sauce like KC Masterpiece
- 1/4 cups - White Vinegar
- 1/4 cups - Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 tablespoons - Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoons - Salt
- 2 tablespoons - Smoke Flavoring
- - Salt and Pepper
Directions:
Salt and pepper the meat.
In a large Dutch oven, sear on all sides over high heat. Reduce heat and add enough water to cover. Add onion, garlic, and jalapeno. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer, covered, for 2 hours. Remove meat and reserve liquid.
Preheat oven to 250ͦͦͦͦͥͦͦ°. Return brisket to the pot. Combine barbecue sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt and smoke flavoring and pour over brisket. Cover and bake 4 hours.
While brisket is cooking, place reserved cooking liquid in a saucepan and reduce by 2/3 over medium-high heat. Set aside and keep warm.
Remove brisket from pot and let stand 15 minutes before slicing.
