Ramen Salad

Ingredients:

  1. 1 heads - cabbage shredded for slaw
  2. 5 - onions chopped
  3. 2 tablespoons - sesame seeds
  4. 1/4 cups - slivered almonds
  5. 2 packages - dry ramen noodles seasoning discarded
  6. 1 cups - salad oil (such as olive oil)
  7. 1/2 cups - sugar
  8. 1/3 cups - rice wine vinegar
  9. - salt and pepper to taste
  10. - a dash of sesame oil optional

Directions:

Brown sesame seeds and almonds in 1 tablespoon butter over medium/low heat or brown in microwave for 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the microwave. Cool.

Mix dressing ingredients together and store in refrigerator until ready to serve.

Layer cabbage, almond / sesame seed mixture and green onions in bowl. Crush ramen noodles and layer on top or crush and leave in a bag until ready to serve (the noodles need to stay dry).

When ready to serve, shake dressing mixture and pour over salad.
