Praline Apple French Toast

Ingredients:

  1. 6 - large eggs
  2. 2 1/4 cups - milk
  3. 6 tablespoons - orange liqueur
  4. 1 1/2 tablespoons - vanilla
  5. 1 1/2 teaspoons - cinnamon
  6. 1 pounds - day-old French bread cut into 1-inch thick slices
  7. 10 tablespoons - butter
  8. 1 1/2 pounds - tart apples (about 3 large) peeled, chopped
  9. 1 1/2 cups - chopped pecans
  10. 2/3 cups - packed brown sugar
  11. 1 cups - hot water

Directions:

Whisk together eggs, milk, liqueur, vanilla and cinnamon.

In a shallow dish, place bread slices; pour mixture over top and let absorb for 20 minutes.

Saute apple slices in butter; add pecans, sugar and hot water, and cook until thickened. Reserve.

In a second skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter per slice of bread and brown each bread slice. Spoon apple mixture over top and serve.
