Pound Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cups - butter or margarine
  2. 2 cups - sugar
  3. 5 - eggs
  4. 2 cups - flour sifted before measuring
  5. 1 teaspoons - vanilla optional
  6. 1 cups - chopped nuts optional

Directions:

Cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one.

Add flour and beat well. If desired, add vanilla and / or nuts.

Pour into well-greased and floured bread pan, then bake for 1 hour in a 350 degree F oven, checking for doneness after 50 minutes.
