Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients:

  1. 2 5/8 ounces - poppy seeds
  2. 12 ounces - evaporated milk
  3. 3 cups - flour
  4. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  5. 1/2 teaspoons - baking soda
  6. 4 whole - eggs
  7. 1 1/2 cups - vegetable oil
  8. 2 cups - sugar
  9. 1 teaspoons - vanilla

Directions:

1) soak poppy seeds in evaporated milk for at least 2 hours
2) preheat oven to 350° F
3) sift dry ingredients except sugar and set aside
4) mix together oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla
5) add in soaking poppy seeds and evaporated milk
6) mix in dry ingredients
7) grease two 9" x 4.5" pans, fill each half with mixture
8) bake at 350° F for 60 minutes, or until knife inserted near center comes out clean
