Ingredients:
- 1 pounds - chopped round steak
- 1/2 pounds - oleo or margarine
- 1 cups - flour
- 8 cups - water
- - fresh ground pepper to taste
- 1 pounds - carrots diced
- 1 - medium onion diced
- 1 stalks - celery diced
- 1 packages - frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 cans - tomatoes large can
- 4 tablespoons - beef bouillon
Directions:
Make a roux - melt oleo in a large pan, stir in flour and gradually add 2 cups of the water. Stir until smooth.
Add all other ingredients except steak and set aside.
In another pan, saute chopped round steak in 2 tablespoons of oleo or butter until browned. Drain off grease.
Add meat to first mixture and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1-1/2 hours or until vegetables are tender. If soup needs thickening, add more roux.
