Pickled Okra (or carrots, asparagus, etc)

Ingredients:

  1. 1 quarts - white distilled vinegar
  2. 3 quarts - water
  3. 1 cups - salt (non-iodized)
  4. 1 cloves - garlic
  5. 1 - hot pepper
  6. - dill
  7. 1 - grape leaf
  8. 1 pinchs - alum
  9. - okra pods

Directions:

Bring vinegar, water, and salt to a boil.

In each sterilized jar, place one each of garlic, hot pepper, sprig of dill, grape leaf, and pinch of alum along with okra.

Pour vinegar and water mixture over vegetables in the jars; seal well. Ready in 2 to 3 weeks. Serve chilled.
