Pecan Tassies

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cups - butter or margarine softened
  2. 1 packages - 3 oz. cream cheese softened
  3. 1 cups - all-purpose flour
  4. 2 tablespoons - butter or margarine melted
  5. 3/4 cups - packed brown sugar
  6. 1 - egg
  7. 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  8. 1 1/2 cups - chopped pecans
  9. - powdered sugar optional for sprinkling on top

Directions:

1. For tart shells, beat butter and cream cheese in large mixing bowl until smooth. Add flour; mix until a soft dough forms. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour or overnight.

2. For filling, combine all filling ingredients in large mixing bowl; mix well.

3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place balls of dough into cups of ungreased mini-muffin pan. Dip mini-tart shaper in flour; press into dough to form tart shell.

4. Fill tart shells evenly with filling mixture. Bake 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown.

5. Remove from mini-muffin pan to a cooling rack, and cool completely.

6. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
