Ingredients:
- 2 - medium pears peeled, sliced
- 2 tablespoons - brown sugar
- 4 1/2 teaspoons - real butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons - lemon juice
- 1/8 teaspoons - ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoons - ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cups - all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons - sugar
- 1/2 teaspoons - sugar to sprinkle on top
- 1/2 teaspoons - baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoons - salt
- 1/4 cups - very cold butter
- 2 tablespoons - cold water
- - vanilla ice cream optional
Directions:
In a small saucepan, combine filling ingredients. Cook and stir over medium heat for 5 minutes until pears are tender. Pour into a 3-cup baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, baking powder and salt; cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Stir in water. Sprinkle over pear mixture.
Sprinkle remaining 1/2 teaspoon of sugar over top of crumble mixture.
Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until topping is lightly browned.
