Ingredients:

  1. 2 - medium pears peeled, sliced
  2. 2 tablespoons - brown sugar
  3. 4 1/2 teaspoons - real butter
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoons - lemon juice
  5. 1/8 teaspoons - ground cinnamon
  6. 1/8 teaspoons - ground nutmeg
  7. 1/2 cups - all-purpose flour
  8. 2 tablespoons - sugar
  9. 1/2 teaspoons - sugar to sprinkle on top
  10. 1/2 teaspoons - baking powder
  11. 1/8 teaspoons - salt
  12. 1/4 cups - very cold butter
  13. 2 tablespoons - cold water
  14. - vanilla ice cream optional

Directions:

In a small saucepan, combine filling ingredients. Cook and stir over medium heat for 5 minutes until pears are tender. Pour into a 3-cup baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, baking powder and salt; cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Stir in water. Sprinkle over pear mixture.
Sprinkle remaining 1/2 teaspoon of sugar over top of crumble mixture.
Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until topping is lightly browned.
