Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups - flour
- 4 tablespoons - unsalted butter cut into pieces, softened
- 2 tablespoons - sugar
- 2 teaspoons - baking powder
- 1/2 cups - chopped green olives
- 1 - egg beaten
- 1/8 teaspoons - salt
- 1/3 cups - Parmesan cheese
- 2/3 cups - milk
- - coarse salt for sprinkling over top
- 2 cups - flour
- 4 tablespoons - unsalted butter cut into pieces, softened
- 2 tablespoons - sugar
- 2 teaspoons - baking powder
- 1/2 cups - chopped green olives
- 1 - egg beaten
- 1/8 teaspoons - salt
- 1/3 cups - Parmesan cheese
- 2/3 cups - milk
- - coarse salt for sprinkling over top
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, add the flour, and then cut the butter pieces into the flour (you can use a fork or your fingers or a pastry blender). Add the sugar, baking powder, salt, and Parmesan cheese and mix well.
Add the chopped olives and stir until combined. Pour in the milk, a little at a time, and stir until the mixture forms a dough. Don't worry if you don't quite use all the milk.
Pull out a chunk of the dough, roll it into a long snake shape, and cut into bite sized pieces. Repeat until all the dough has been rolled and cut.
Place the pieces on parchment paper on a baking sheet (or spritz baking sheet with cooking oil if you don't have parchment paper).
Brush the pretzel bites with the beaten egg. Sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
Serve warm with mustard for dipping, if desired.
