Number of Servings:

Ingredients:

  1. 2 - large sweet onions
  2. 3/4 cups - all-purpose flour
  3. 2 - eggs
  4. 2 tablespoons - milk
  5. 2 cups - panko bread crumbs
  6. 1 teaspoons - smoked paprika
  7. 1/2 teaspoons - onion powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoons - garlic powder
  9. 2 teaspoons - salt

Directions:

Cut off both ends of onions, peel the skin off of them, and slice into thick rings. Separate the rings from each other, setting aside the smallest inner rings for another use.

Place the flour in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, beat together the eggs and milk. Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow bowl.

Mix together the smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and salt; split evenly between the three bowls. Whisk together ingredients in each bowl to disperse the seasonings.

Dip onion rings in flour first, completely coating both sides of rings as well as the inner portion. Then dip flour-coated rings into egg mixture, being sure to completely coat with egg so the flour is no longer visible. This may require flipping the rings a few times.

Lastly, dip the rings in the breadcrumb mixture; coat the rings well, using your fingers to press the breadcrumbs onto the rings to make sure they stick.

Generously spray inside of air fryer and both sides of baking rack with cooking spray. Gently place a single layer of onion rings into air fryer and spray top of rings with cooking spray. Cook at 375° F for 10 minutes, flipping the rings over halfway through cooking time.

Keep first batch warm in an oven set to 200° F, while cooking second (and/or third) batches of onion rings. Serve with favorite dipping sauce.
