Nutmeg Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cups - soft botter
  2. 1 1/3 cups - sugar
  3. 3 - eggs
  4. 2 cups - flour
  5. 1 teaspoons - baking powder
  6. 2 teaspoons - numeg
  7. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  8. 1 cups - buttermilk (or sour milk)
  9. 6 tablespoons - butter
  10. 1/4 cups - light cream
  11. 1/2 cups - brown sugar
  12. 1/2 cups - coconut or chopped walnuts

Directions:

For Cake:
Mix together all of cake ingredients. Bake in greased 13 by 9 inch pan at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes.

For Topping:
Mix together butter, cream, brown sugar and coconut or walnuts. Bring to a boil and pour over hot cake. Bake for 5 minutes.

May serve with whipped cream.
