This recipe was originally created for canning, but the sauce can most certainly be made fresh and used immediately or frozen.

Ingredients:
- 8 cups - tomatoes cut up
- 2 - large onions coarsely chopped
- 2 cloves - garlic
- 2 - green peppers coarsely chopped
- 12 ounces - tomato paste
- 1 1/2 teaspoons - salt
- 1/4 teaspoons - pepper
- 2 - bay leaves
- 1 teaspoons - basil (generous teaspoon)
- 1/4 teaspoons - thyme
Directions:
Cook the tomatoes until soft; put through a food mill.
When thoroughly strained, put tomatoes along with onion, green peppers, and garlic in a blender for 10-15 seconds.
Place mixture in a large pot along with remaining ingredients and cook 1 hour. Stir occasionally to prevent burning on the bottom.
Serve with spaghetti or favorite pasta.
Makes 4 pints.
