Mrs. Stewart's Pecan Pie

Ingredients:

  1. 1 - baked pie shell
  2. 1 cups - pecans roasted, chopped
  3. 3 - eggs separated
  4. 1/2 cups - sugar
  5. 3 tablespoons - sugar
  6. 3 tablespoons - flour (level tablespoons)
  7. 3/4 cups - water
  8. 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  9. 1 cans - sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)

Directions:

Beat egg yolks with flour and 1/2 cup sugar. Add water, vanilla, and condensed milk. Cook over low heat until thick.

Add pecans. Cool. Pour into pie shell.

Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually add 3 tablespoons sugar. Spread on pie and brown in oven until golden brown.

Refrigerate and serve cold.
