Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 1 pounds - ground beef or Italian sausage or more, to taste
- 24 ounces - spaghetti sauce or more, to taste
- 3/4 cups - cheddar OR cheddar/jack mix grated
- 1/4 cups - mozzarella grated (or more or less, to taste)
- 1 packages - penne, ziti or mostaccioli noodles 16 oz, about 3 cups dry
- 1/3 cups - cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cups - ricotta cheese optional
- 1/4 cups - parmesan cheese
Directions:
Cook noodles according to package directions and drain. Stir cream cheese into noodles while they are still hot; then stir in ricotta and parmesan, too.
While noodles are cooking, brown the ground beef or sausage in a large skillet; drain off grease. Pour spaghetti sauce into skillet with browned meat, and reduce heat to medium-low; allow to simmer 3-5 minutes.
In 8x11-inch lightly greased baking dish, put half of noodles and top with half of cheddar, and half of meat sauce.
Repeat layers, and then top all of it with mozzarella.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 15-20 minutes until top is lightly browned.
