    Chai has been a staple in my household since I was a kid and in most Indian families if I dare say so! It is a breakfast or evening beverage in my family for generations! Make it with spices like ginger, cardamom etc. and its an excellent drink to have especially in colder climates where I grew up!

  1. 1/4 cups - Water
  2. 3/4 teaspoons - Grated Ginger Start with this amount and add more per your preference
  3. 2 - Green Cardamom Pods 2-3 Green Cardamom Pods based on preference
  4. 1/2 pieces - Cloves Optional but can add based on preference.
  5. 1 dashes - Cinnamon Optional Topper


Heat about 1/4 cup water on high in a stainless steel pot, bring to a boil and then add ginger, cardamom, cloves. Let the spices simmer in boiling water until you can smell them! Take the pot off the stove and add the loose leaf tea. Wait a few seconds until it brews till dark red/brown. Add the milk. Turn the stove back on and return to medium heat. When the chai froths, remove from stove. Strain and pour the chai in your mugs and enjoy! If you like, you can also add cinnamon on top!
