Marinated Cole Slaw

  1. 3 pounds - shredded cabbage mixture
  2. 1 - medium onion chopped finely
  3. 2 cups - sugar
  4. 1 1/3 cups - cider vinegar
  5. 1 cups - canola oil
  6. 1 tablespoons - salt
  7. 3/4 tablespoons - pepper


Toss together cabbage mixture, chopped onion and sugar; set aside. This will shrink.

Combine vinegar, oil, salt and pepper in saucepan and bring to a boil. Let cool slightly.

Pour over cabbage mixture and stir. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Best if in fridge for 24 hours.

Keeps for 3 weeks in refrigerator.
