Macadamia and Maple Tartlets

Ingredients:

  1. 200 grams - plain flour
  2. 50 grams - icing sugar
  3. 150 grams - Cold butter, chopped
  4. 1 whole - egg - yolk only
  5. 2 tablespoons - cold water
  6. 3 whole - eggs
  7. 90 grams - brown sugar
  8. 3 tablespoons - maple syrup
  9. 60 grams - melted butter, cooled
  10. 1 whole - Orange, Finely grated zest
  11. 240 grams - <a href="https://www.duck-creek.com.au/">Duck Creek</a> honey roast macadamias

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Spread the macadamias on a baking tray and lightly toast for 6-8 minutes. Set aside to cool on paper towels.

Pastry:
1. In a food processor, pulse the flour, sugar and butter together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

2. Add the egg yolk and water and process until the mixture comes together. Roll out thinly and line 6 x 11cm individual tartlet cases. Chill for 30 minutes.

Filling:
1. Whisk the eggs, sugar and maple syrup together.

2. Stir through the melted butter, zest and nuts. Pour filling into prepared pastry shells and bake for 10 minutes. Reduce oven to 160°C and bake a further 15-20 minutes until set.

Serve warm or cold.
