Long-Keeping Cabbage Salad

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tablespoons - salt
  2. 2 - medium heads cabbage shredded
  3. 2 - peppers cut fine
  4. 1 bunches - celery cut fine
  5. 1 tablespoons - celery seed
  6. 1 tablespoons - mustard seed
  7. 3 cups - sugar
  8. 2 cups - white vinegar
  9. 1 cups - water
  10. 2 tablespoons - salt
  11. 2 - medium heads cabbage shredded
  12. 2 - peppers cut fine
  13. 1 bunches - celery cut fine
  14. 1 tablespoons - celery seed
  15. 1 tablespoons - mustard seed
  16. 3 cups - sugar
  17. 2 cups - white vinegar
  18. 1 cups - water

Directions:

1. Add salt to cabbage. Let stand for 1 hour.
2. Squeeze juice out, add peppers, celery, mustard seed and celery seed to cabbage.
3. Boil sugar, vinegar and water together for 3 minutes. Cool.
4. Pour over cabbage mixture. Refrigerate.
Yields 10-12.
