Light Cheese Sauce - Healthier

  1. 1 1/4 cups - shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese
  2. 1 tablespoons - cornstarch
  3. 1 cups - evaporated milk (fat-free)
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoons - hot sauce optional, to taste


In a medium saucepan, place shredded cheese with cornstarch and stir together.

Add evaporated milk. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk until melted and sauce is thickened (about 10 minutes).

If you desire a spicy cheese sauce, add in the hot sauce and stir to combine.
