Jewish Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cups - shortening
  2. 2 cups - granulated sugar divided
  3. 4 - eggs
  4. 3 cups - flour
  5. 1 1/2 teaspoons - baking powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  7. 1 cups - milk
  8. 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  9. 2 tablespoons - cinnamon
  10. 1/2 cups - granulated sugar

Directions:

Cream shortening and 1.5 cup sugar together. Add one egg at a time and beat well.

In another bowl, blend flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients with creamed mixture alternately with milk and vanilla.

Combine sugar and cinnamon.

Grease and flour 10” tube pan. Pour 1/2 of the batter into the pan, and then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Pour the rest of the batter on top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar again.

Bake at 350 until toothpick come out clean.
