Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cups - butter
- 1/2 cups - margarine
- 3/4 cups - sugar
- 1 - egg yolk
- 2 cups - flour
- 1 teaspoons - cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoons - baking soda
- 1 - beaten egg white
- 1/2 cups - almond slices
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F.
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and margarine for 30 seconds. Add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add the egg yolk; beat well.
Stir together the flour, cinnamon and baking soda, adding to the butter mixture and beating until combined.
Place the dough in the center of a 15-x-10-inch baking pan, spreading the dough evenly out to the edges of the pan with your fingers. Brush the top with the egg white and sprinkle with the almonds, pressing slightly into the dough.
Bake for 15-18 minutes or until dough is golden brown. Set pan on a wire rack and allow to stand for 5 minutes, then immediately cut into 36 slices. Remove and cool.
