Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 2 quarts - Milk plus 3 cups (2%)
- 1 sticks - Butter
- 14 ounces - Farina
- 2 teaspoons - Salt
- 3 cups - Sugar
- 1 tablespoons - Vanilla
- 12 - Eggs
- 2 quarts - Milk plus 3 cups (2%)
- 1 sticks - Butter
- 14 ounces - Farina
- 2 teaspoons - Salt
- 3 cups - Sugar
- 1 tablespoons - Vanilla
- 12 - Eggs
Directions:
Scald the 2 quarts of milk while stirring. Add stick of butter and melt in. Add sugar and salt. Slowly add Farina while stirring. Use a high sauce pot because it will "spit" and bubble as it thickens. Continue to stir, but watch that it doesn't burn. Take off heat and add the 3 cups milk, dozen eggs (beaten with whisk) and vanilla. (I had the eggs whisked and the vanilla added in them so it was ready to go when the Farina was cooked.) Pour into greased or sprayed pan.
Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325° or until knife comes out clean. Will get a little golden brown on top.
