Italian Beef Pasta Bake

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pounds - 95% lean ground beef
  2. 2 cups - to 3 cups macaroni noodles, cooked (about 1 cup uncooked)
  3. 1 - medium onion diced
  4. 1 teaspoons - minced garlic
  5. 1 cans - diced tomatoes with juice
  6. 2 tablespoons - tomato paste
  7. 2 teaspoons - brown sugar
  8. 2 teaspoons - sweet paprika (I use a bit more than this, I just add more till it tastes right)
  9. 1 teaspoons - dried basil
  10. 1 teaspoons - dried oregano
  11. 1/2 cups - grated low-fat cheddar cheese
  12. - salt and pepper

Directions:

Cook macaroni according to directions. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).

Spray a skillet lightly with cooking oil spray and cook the onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until well browned.

Add the can of tomatoes, tomato paste, brown sugar, paprika, herbs, salt and pepper to taste.

Add cooked macaroni to sauce and stir through. (Adjust the amount of pasta according to how you like it.)

Pour into greased casserole dish and top with grated cheese and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
