Serve on warm French bread. Grandma’s recipe called for bottom round roast but we have preferred rump roast. Can also top with giardineria or cooked green peppers.

Ingredients:
- 3 pounds - Rump roast
- 1 tablespoons - Garlic powder
- 1 tablespoons - Salt
- 1 tablespoons - Ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoons - Basil - dried
- 1 tablespoons - Oregano - dried
- 1 tablespoons - Crushed red pepper
- 1 tablespoons - Parsley - dried
- 2 - Bay leaves - dried
- 1 1/2 cups - Water 1/2
Directions:
Stovetop: Place all ingredients in a large pot. Cook 3 1/2 hours. Untie string from roast and return to pot. Cook additional 1/2 hour. Slice and return to pot over warm until ready to serve.
Crockpot: Place all ingredients in crockpot. Cook 7 hours on low or 3 hours on high. Remove String from roast. Return to crockpot and cook additional hour . Shred or slice and return to crockpot on warm until ready to serve.
