Irma's Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients:

  1. 1 1/4 cups - lukewarm water
  2. 1 1/2 teaspoons - fresh lemon juice
  3. 2 tablespoons - powdered milk (I omit)
  4. 1 1/4 teaspoons - salt
  5. 2 tablespoons - sugar (often use 1T)
  6. 2 tablespoons - margarine/butter (I use oil)
  7. 3 cups - white flour
  8. 1/2 teaspoons - nutmeg
  9. 2 teaspoons - lemon rind freshly grated
  10. 2 tablespoons - poppy seeds (I use 1 T)
  11. 2 teaspoons - yeast

Directions:

Measure in order into baking pan. Select desired crust.
I don’t make it in the breadmaker. I use the dough setting, form the dough and brushed with egg, and bake in 350 oven.
