Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds - beef stew meat
- 2 tablespoons - cooking oil
- 2 cups - potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cups - carrots, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 - medium onion, cut into thin wedges
- 1/2 cups - sliced celery
- 9 ounces - frozen cut green beans
- 1 tablespoons - instant beef bouillon granules
- 2 teaspoons - Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 teaspoons - dried thyme, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoons - salt
- 1/4 teaspoons - pepper
- 16 ounces - can tomatoes, cut up
- 1 1/2 cups - water
Directions:
Cut meat into 1/2-inch cubes. In a large skillet, brown meat, half at a time, in hot oil. Drain well.
Meanwhile, in a 3-1/2-, 4-, 5-, or 6-quart crockery cooker, combine potatoes, carrots, onion, and celery. Add frozen beans, bouillon granules, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir in browned meat, undrained tomatoes, and water.
Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on high-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours.
