Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 1 cups - shortening
- 1 cups - sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons - salt
- 1 cups - boiling water
- 2 - eggs beaten
- 1 cups - cool water
- 2 - yeast cakes
- 3 cups - whole wheat flour
- 3 cups - white flour
Directions:
Pour boiling water over shortening, sugar and salt. Blend and allow to cool. (Shortening will not be completely melted - chop up with a spoon). Add in the beaten eggs.
Soak yeast in the cool water. Stir and add into the first mixture.
Add flour a little at a time, alternating the two kinds of flour.
Place dough in a greased bowl and turn dough to grease both sides. Cover with tight foil and place in refrigerator overnight.
Remove from fridge and allow to sit at room temp for 3 hours before using. Then roll out, cut, and place rolls in generously oiled pans. Let rise in a warm place.
Bake at 375 to 400 degrees F for 15 to 20 minutes. Freeze leftovers.
