Ingredients:
- 2 cups - water
- 2 cups - sugar
- 2 ounces - dried hibiscus flowers
- - pinch of salt
- 1 cups - hibiscus syrup
- 4 cups - water
- 1/2 cups - lime juice
- - lime slices for garnish, optional
Directions:
To make the syrup: Put water and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the hibiscus flowers and salt. Steep for 4 minutes. Strain syrup and discard hibiscus. (Makes about 2 cups). Store syrup in a jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 month until ready to use.
To make pitcher of limeade: Pour hibiscus syrup, water and lime juice into a pitcher and stir until well combined. Serve immediately or refrigerate until needed.
To serve, pour into a Collins glass over ice and garnish with lime slices, if desired.
