Guinness Chili

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tablespoons - vegetable oil
  2. 2 whole - onions chopped
  3. 3 cloves - garlic minced
  4. 3/4 pounds - beef sirloin cubed
  5. 1 pounds - ground beef
  6. 1 cans - peeled and diced tomatoes with juice (14.5 oz can)
  7. 12 ounces - can or bottle dark beer
  8. 1 cups - strongly brewed coffee
  9. 1 cans - tomato paste (12 oz can)
  10. 14 ounces - beef broth
  11. 1/2 cups - packed brown sugar
  12. 3 1/2 tablespoons - chili powder
  13. 1 tablespoons - cumin seeds
  14. 1 tablespoons - unsweetened cocoa powder
  15. 1 teaspoons - oregano
  16. 1 teaspoons - ground cayenne pepper
  17. 1 teaspoons - ground coriander
  18. 4 cans - kidney beans (15 oz can)

Directions:

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion, garlic, ground beef, and sirloin in oil for 10 minutes, or until the meat is well browned and the onions are tender.

Mix in the diced tomatoes with juice, dark beer, coffee, tomato paste, and beef broth. Season with brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, cocoa powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, coriander, and salt. Stir in 2 cans of kidney beans. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.

Stir in the 2 remaining cans of bean, and simmer for another 30 minutes
