Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cups - shortening
- 1 1/2 cups - sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 4 tablespoons - cream
- 4 cups - flour
- 1 teaspoons - vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoons - nutmeg
- 1 teaspoons - baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoons - cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoons - salt
Directions:
Use about 1 tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in slow oven (325 degrees F) for 20 to 25 minutes.
Roll warm cookies in confectioners' sugar. (For color, you may mix conf. sugar with colored crystallized sugar.) I find it easiest to shake them carefully in a paper bag.
