Grandma Sullivan's Bread & Buns

Ingredients:

  1. 1 packages - yeast (1-2 pkg)
  2. 1/2 cups - water warm
  3. 1 tablespoons - sugar
  4. 2 cups - milk scalded
  5. 1 tablespoons - salt
  6. 1/3 cups - sugar
  7. 3 tablespoons - margarine (3-4 tbsp)
  8. 2 - eggs well beaten
  9. 5 cups - flour (5-6 cups)
  10. 1 tablespoons - sugar
  11. 2 cups - milk scalded
  12. 1 tablespoons - salt
  13. 1/3 cups - sugar
  14. 3 tablespoons - margarine (3-4 tbsp)
  15. 2 - eggs well beaten
  16. 5 cups - flour (5-6 cups)
  17. 1 packages - yeast (1-2 pkg)
  18. 1/2 cups - water warm

Directions:

1. Sprinkle yeast on warm water and sugar and let sit for 10 minutes.
2. To the scalded milk, add the salt (but don't tell Diane), sugar, and margarine and let cool.
3. Add the eggs, yeast and flour and mix until dough loses its stickiness and becomes elastic.
4. Let dough rise twice then shape into bread, or buns, or little animals, or maybe even trees and flowers and that kind of stuff.
5. Bake at 350° for 20-30 minutes.
