Number of Servings:
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons - bacon fat
- 1 pounds - breakfast sausage
- 1/2 cups - flour
- 3 cups - milk
- - salt and pepper
Directions:
Fry 4 slices of bacon; when brown, remove from skillet, leaving bacon fat in the skillet.
Add sausage to skillet; brown and chop into small pieces while cooking. After browned and completely cooked, slowly add flour, small amount at a time, stirring well.
When the flour and sausage mixture is incorporated, begin slowly adding milk, while stirring. (Milk and flour may lump if added too quickly).
Use your judgement to some extent; if you think gravy is too thick, add a little more milk. The above works well for us.
