Grandma Edward's Christmas Pie

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cups - sugar
  2. 2 - eggs separated
  3. 1 cups - sweet condensed milk
  4. 2 tablespoons - flour
  5. 1/2 teaspoons - salt
  6. 1 cups - pecans
  7. 1 cups - sweetened, cooked raisins
  8. 1 - lump of butter about the size of a walnut
  9. 1 teaspoons - vanilla
  10. - Baked pie crust
  11. - additional pecans for topping

Directions:

Stir together the sugar, egg yolks, sweet milk, flour and salt, and cook until mixture thickens.

After it thickens, stir in pecans, raisins, and lump of butter along with vanilla; stir well.

Pour into baked pie crust. Use the 2 eggs whites for the top of the pie (I'm guessing you make a meringue with it?).

Lay the additional pecans on top of the icing and brown in a slow oven.
