Notes:
Do not use paper inserts to line the muffin tins for these, as the pastry crust does not peel from them easily. I use light brown sugar but dark was the original to this recipe. Do not use any other kind of nut. Everyone loves these, so I make 3 recipes at a time, but only 2 1/2 recipes of filling with 2 1/2 Cups pecans.

Ingredients:
- - 3 oz. cream cheese softened
- 1 sticks - butter softened
- 1 cups - flour
- 3/4 cups - dark or light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoons - vanilla
- 1 tablespoons - melted butter
- 3/4 cups - chopped pecans
- 1 - egg
Directions:
Mix crust ingredients together until smooth, then chill dough for 20-30 minutes. Place a walnut size ball of chilled pastry into miniature muffin cups. Press evenly on bottom, hollowing out the center and building up the sides slightly.
Mix together filling ingredients. Place 1 teaspoon of filling mix in each pastry lined muffin cup. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. Allow to cool in tins for 5 minutes. Carefully remove partially cooled cups from the tins.
